Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Preserve path distinctions on case-sensitive filesystems.

On Linux, models/Foo.sql and models/foo.sql can be different model files. Both lineage lookups select the first normalized match, so focusing the second file can display the first model. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Use the project filesystem’s path semantics for comparison. Add tests for distinct case-sensitive paths and literal backslashes.

Based on learnings: native POSIX filenames can contain literal backslashes.

Review comment at @vscode/react/src/utils/index.ts at line 225:
Update the normalize function and its lineage lookup comparisons to use the
project filesystem’s path semantics, preserving distinctions between
case-different paths on case-sensitive filesystems and treating literal
backslashes correctly; add tests covering distinct case-sensitive paths and
filenames containing literal backslashes.
