Map additional Win32 filesystem errors to their POSIX equivalents and use EINVAL for unknown errors.
Use Win32 attribute APIs for path and descriptor permissions, default chmod to not following symlinks on Windows, and preserve no-op fchmod behavior in the Java backend. Cover paths, descriptors, symlinks, directories, and missing network shares.
Recognize symbolic-link file types and executable extensions, retain link metadata, and handle untraversable reparse points such as app execution aliases. Add alias regression coverage.
Pass target_is_directory through the POSIX backends, infer directory targets relative to the link, and remove directory links without affecting their targets. Cover creation, removal, dangling directory links, and the stat metadata now testable through os.symlink.
Read reparse-point target text, support long UTF-16 targets, and distinguish unsupported reparse tags from Win32 errors. Add tests for long, Unicode, dangling, and non-link targets.
