Moves @tanstack/solid-table to Solid 2 as a new major (v10). Solid 1 apps stay on v9. The public API doesn't change, apart from Solid 2's own type and import changes. If this doesn't work we should talk about it, but I wanted to get the preliminary work somewhere, however this lands.
Adapter
State. Table state atoms are Solid 2 signals, and derived atoms are memos. Writes use ownedWrite, because table-core writes state from inside computations (syncing controlled state and external atoms).
Solid 2 applies writes at the next flush, so a read straight after a write returns the previous value. Every table API writes through an updater, and updaters see pending writes, so several updates in one tick compose (tests cover two nextPage() calls, two row toggles, and back-to-back setOptions).
batch and observable are gone in Solid 2. batch is a pass-through, and atom subscriptions use an effect that reports changes only, like a TanStack Store subscription.
Controlled state.createComputed becomes a split render effect that syncs controlled state into the base atoms. It no longer rewrites the options, which made every row model recompute a second time.
Store data. A Solid store keeps its identity when it changes in place. Solid Query v6 data is one. table-core memoizes row models by reference, so a store array passed as data is handed on as a fresh copy when its items change. That costs one memo per table.
Templates.FlexRender calls cell/header/footer templates where they render, instead of through createComponent. Their reads are tracked by the effect that inserts them, so a template updates when what it reads changes. This adds no computation per cell, and it removes two Shows per cell. Without it, every example printed Solid 2's STRICT_READ_UNTRACKED dev warning for every cell, because a component body doesn't track.
Setup. Table construction runs under untrack, since it reads options once and its atoms track from then on.
createTableHook.
Contexts are their own providers.
mergeProps becomes merge.
AppHeader and AppFooter each provide their own view of the header, with Object.create(header) plus the bound components. A header and its footer can be the same object, and in Solid 2's lazy children the two wrappers overwrote each other's FlexRender.
table-core (patch)
table.setOptions(updater) applies the updater to the latest options inside optionsStore.set(prev => …). Before, it read the options outside, so two calls in one tick lost the first one when writes are batched.
constructTable merges the initial options through mergeOptions when one is given. The object spread snapshotted adapter getters such as get data().
Handler getters now check whether the action is allowed when the handler runs, not when it's created. This covers getToggleSortingHandler, getToggleSelectedHandler, getToggleExpandedHandler, getToggleGroupingHandler, getResizeHandler and the cell selection start/extend handlers.
A handler created before an enable* option changed acted on the old value.
Creating a handler, as in onClick={column.getToggleSortingHandler()}, read table state, which Solid 2 flags as an untracked read.
All 1,336 core tests pass.
Tests
29/29 adapter tests pass in jsdom with @solidjs/vite-plugin (in the node environment the server build loads).
Updates now call flush() before asserting.
Effects are split into compute and apply.
New tests cover:
pending updaters
function values in signals
two setOptions in one tick
two toggles in one tick
two nextPage() in one tick
writes from inside an effect
store data changed in place
a template that re-renders when a signal it reads changes
The last two fail without their fixes.
Examples
33 of the 39 Solid examples move to Solid 2. Every one typechecks, lints, and passes its existing Playwright e2e suite in Chromium. On load they print no Solid dev warnings. The one exception is with-tanstack-router, which gets a single warning from inside @tanstack/solid-router.
Mechanical changes:
@solidjs/web and @solidjs/vite-plugin
colSpan/rowSpan → colspan/rowspan
prop:indeterminate instead of a ref plus effect
split effects, and merge/omit
JSX types from @solidjs/web
Devtools. The devtools mounts are removed, because TanStack Devtools has no Solid 2 entry yet.
Pacer, Hotkeys and Store. These don't have Solid 2 releases yet.
Pacer's createDebouncer becomes a small local debouncer, keeping the same call sites.
cell-selection's hotkeys become a keydown handler.
basic-external-atoms uses @tanstack/store with a local useSelector.
with-tanstack-query uses Solid Query v6 (rc):
The tables sit under <Loading>.
Query inputs are read in the options function, not in queryFn.
with-tanstack-router uses Router v2 (rc).
Bugs this surfaced in example code (reads in a component body that never updated):
composable-tables' footer sum ignored filtering.
Several Filter components picked their type through an untracked read, which is now an explicit untrack.
Left on Solid 1 for now: realtime-trading, spreadsheet, virtualized-columns, virtualized-infinite-scrolling, virtualized-rows and with-tanstack-form. They're excluded in pnpm-workspace.yaml, so they keep the published v9 adapter until Virtual and Form have Solid 2 releases.
Docs
Installation and quick start: Solid 2 for v10, and v9 for Solid 1.
The table state guide explains flush timing.
The pagination guide's Query snippets use v6.
The migration guide has a Solid 2 section.
Cell selection, row selection and cell spanning snippets use Solid 2 APIs.
The devtools page says the Solid devtools stay on Solid 1 / v9 for now.
The skills are updated the same way.
Release
Changesets: @tanstack/solid-table major (10.0.0), and @tanstack/table-core patch.
@tanstack/solid-table is taken out of the linked @tanstack/* group ("!@tanstack/solid-table"). Otherwise the linked group would release table-core and every other adapter as 10.0.0 too. changeset status shows solid-table → 10.0.0 and the rest → 9.3.2.
sherif ignores solid-js, since @tanstack/solid-table-devtools and @tanstack/table-devtools stay on Solid 1.

eslint, tsc and publint on solid-table and table-core
Port @tanstack/solid-table to Solid 2 as a new major. Table state atoms
are Solid 2 signals and memos, FlexRender calls templates where they
render so their reads are tracked, and a store array passed as data
updates the table when it changes in place.
table-core: setOptions applies its updater inside the options store
update, constructTable merges initial options through mergeOptions, and
handler getters check whether the action is allowed when they run.
33 Solid examples move to Solid 2 and pass their e2e suites. The Virtual
and Form examples stay on the published Solid 1 adapter for now.

Declare the v10 adapter in migrated examples for standalone installs.
The migrated Solid 2 examples still declare @tanstack/solid-table^9.3.1. The workspace workspace:* override hides this range during repository installs, but an install outside the workspace can resolve the published Solid 1 v9 adapter instead of the v10 adapter. Update the migrated example manifests to the v10 adapter range before publishing the adapter release. Do not treat this as a request to publish the private examples.

Limit grid shortcuts to the grid’s selection target.
The wrapper receives bubbled key events from its header and pin buttons. When a header button has focus, an arrow key now moves the cell selection and reaches preventDefault() instead of retaining normal keyboard behavior. Ignore events from nested controls, or handle navigation only when the wrapper or a selectable cell is the intended target.

Handle in-place field edits on store-backed rows.
The data memo only tracks the array structure and item references. A supported in-place update to an existing row field can therefore leave table.options.data unchanged. The core row model then remains cached, and accessor-based cells can continue returning their cached values from row._valuesCache.
If in-place field edits are supported by this adapter, track those edits and add a regression test that changes an existing row's field. Otherwise, narrow the changeset wording so that “when its items change” does not imply that field edits are supported.
