Code of conduct

MMFoundation's apps are used and built by people who speak different languages and know different amounts about Macs and code. Every issue, discussion, pull request and review in the organization should be a place where anyone can ask a question or report a problem without being made to feel small for it.

What we expect

  • Be kind and assume good faith. Most reports come from someone whose Mac isn't doing what they hoped.
  • Write so others can follow. Many readers use a translator. English and 简体中文 are both welcome, and so are other languages.
  • Disagree with ideas, not people. Accept the maintainers' call on what a project takes on, even when you would have chosen differently.
  • Respect other people's work. Credit it, and don't post files or paid content you have no right to share.
  • Keep people's information private, including what turns up in logs, diagnostics and screenshots.

What isn't acceptable

  • Harassment, insults, threats, or demeaning remarks about anyone's identity, background, language or experience.
  • Explicit images in an issue or discussion.
  • Posting someone's private information without their consent.
  • Asking for or sharing ways to pirate paid software.
  • Spam, advertising, and repeated off-topic or bad-faith posts.

Enforcement

Maintainers may edit, hide or remove posts, lock threads, and block people who break these rules. Report a problem with GitHub's Report content on the post; reports are handled in confidence.

Responses follow the Contributor Covenant's ladder: a private reminder, then a warning, then a temporary ban, and a permanent ban for severe or repeated harm.

Scope

This applies to the issues, discussions, pull requests and reviews of every MMFoundation repository and of the organization's Discussions, and anywhere someone represents the organization in public. A repository with its own code of conduct (WallpaperMachine has one) follows that one.

Adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, available at https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/1/code_of_conduct/, by way of WallpaperMachine's code of conduct.
