JollyPixel is a real-time, collaborative editor for making browser games. It is open source (MIT) and free to use and extend.
What you get
- Create together, live. Several people can work on the same project's scenes, assets, and scripts at once, and see each other's changes as they happen.
- Beginner-friendly. Each kind of asset has its own dedicated editor, and we keep each one deliberately simple.
- Made for games. The editor is organized around game concepts: scenes, assets, and scripting.
- Runs in the browser. Nothing to install: open a link and start building. Games run and can be debugged directly in the browser.
What JollyPixel is not
JollyPixel is not a new game engine or renderer. It builds on existing libraries such as Three.js, using its WebGPU renderer.
Inspiration
JollyPixel takes inspiration from earlier collaborative game-making tools such as Superpowers and CraftStudio.
Building an editor is hard, and we welcome contributors of all levels and expertise. We need developers, artists but also people to help with growth and branding.
